The Boston Tea Party was planned at a coffee house called the Green Dragon. The first public reading of the Declaration of Independence was held at another Boston coffee house, the bunch of grapes. But caffeine addiction was an expensive habit to pick up in those early days as the cultivation of the plants was pretty restricted.
