Growth mindset is an academic concept that Carol Dweck, a Stanford psychologist, has been working on really for her whole professional career. It's the idea that you have beliefs that drive your motivation and your behavior. But there are measurable changes in motivation and outcomes when kids learn about growth mindset. The effects are small and they are really dependent on the school context.
