Claudia began campaigning for recognition of their rights to the land that they had lived on for generations. It wasn't until 19 92 that finally, the then civilian government in brazil agreed to the establishment of a yanumami indigenous area along the bBrazil venezuelabor. She says, was important if i want people to help, to defend them, they have to understand who the anomami are.
