In the budget, Treasury defined this halving of inflation to be half the rate it was in the fourth quarter of 2022. The magic number is 5.3% for the fourth quarter that's October to December this year. But prices have gone up 3.6%. So, if you're going to be 5.3%, you've got another 1.7 percentage points left.
