The Challenge With DSM Is Heterogeneity

The challenge with DSM, although it makes sense on the surface, is that if you start to look at real people with any of these disorders, there is tremendous heterogeneous femininity and tremendous comorbidity. The other challenge with our classification system is that most people who get mental health treatment have more than one disorder. And in fact, we have an abundance of research showing that all of the mental disorders are interconnected in ways that we can't distinguish.
