The enlightened one can know everything just as we are knowing. And being a great yogi they can know things in detail also, many things which we may not want. So Shounaka might have come across to come upon this question. He might have heard that there are these enlightened masters who know the secret of all existence by knowing which everything is known. Or he might have used just common sense logic. Go to the sages with the highest question. How, like Narendra Nath, he goes to Sri Ramakrishna and asks, have you seen God?

Swami Sarvapriyananda teaches the Mundaka Upanishad which one of the major Upanishads belonging to the Atharva Veda. Mundaka means ''shaved'' like a shaved head. The teachings revealed in this Upanishad are meant to leave the student clean, or shaved of the veil of ignorance. Indeed, the study of this Upanishad has been traditionally confined to the shaven-heads, or the sannyasins, who have renounced everything and devoted themselves exclusively to contemplation.
