The Adventures of Dr. Robinson

Pike and his men made a series of failed attempts to cross the Sangre's mountains. Pike thought he was on the Red River, but it turned out to be several hundred miles away. Some have questioned if Pike had ulterior motives all along for the expedition. In my opinion, he did what he thought he should do. He pushing on, complete the mission.
