In 1987, there was a cultural feeling of resentment and fear towards strong women. Women were scary because we had the audacity to be asking for more freedoms, more respect. Men were seeing feminists as sort of witches. And I think Hollywood was reflecting that as 80s career women being like homicidal maniacs in films.
