You Don't Compete on Price, You Compete on Price

People buy on a number of different criteria, and price is only one of them. Prices are raised to the bottom because some one can always undercut you - whoever they are. Not only do i think that ar price clearly isn't the only criteria of purchase, it's also the most ridiculous one to compete on. It's the one that's easiest for someone else to kind of cut your legs off and take your market share away.
