Freud has a pretty good answer for this in studies on hysteria like it's one of the last lines and I don't know why he doesn't come back to it um maybe he just thinks that because he wrote that and he had less experience then when he wrote that line that when he had more experience he couldn't go back to a prior conclusion. He wants whoever is in whoever is in analysis to be better prepared to accept ordinary human unhappiness which seems like it's not enough. But you can't do what Freud says right from the very beginning as an analyst if you're going to get someone to accept ordinaryHumanUnhappiness. You have to make yourself vulnerable by opening yourself up
