The Importance of Mystery in Preaching

No one likes mystery. And I think that's the temptation for materialism. How do you get people to transition from tangible material they can hold on to and embrace mystery in your relationship with the divine? Well, there are a lot of people who know more about that than I do. Good preaching provides some fresh categories through which we may imagine our life differently. But it really is the emancipation of imagination that lets us dare to imagine beyond the boxes in which we have been nurtured and situated.
