The United States' Policy Toward Flood Insurance

CNN's John Sutter looks at the U.S. policy toward providing flood insurance for people who live in areas that are liable to be flooded repeatedly. FEMA will try to help you get back on your feet after a big hurricane, he says. The federal government will offer you flood insurance; it's not very good coverage and is too expensive for many of us to afford. And then there are all these grant programs for instead of just rebuilding everything, we're going to give a city money to raise its roads," writes Sutter.
