Jeryd. Diamond frames his project as an explicitly anti racist undertaking. Some have accused this book of perpetuating certain racist ideas and treading perhaps a little too close to social darwinism. But i should say right here that many of the book's critics don't completely buy diamond's claims to be staunchly anti racist. Ultimately, he be s that societies that were able to develop guns, weaponized steel and had immunities to a few highly contagious diseases had an edge when they encountered societies that did not has these things.
