The Importance of GDP in the Economy
I get why the state needs to know what the GDP is because it's doing whatever economic planning it is doing. But we have just given it this holy grail notion or in other words, we have basically made a cult out of GDP. And end of the day, we should not give so much importance to GDP. It really doesn't have to be that exactly as you said, my life doesn't change at all if you don't know how the country is doing and it's perfectly fine. The focus all throughout the last four years should have been either acknowledging that there are some issues fixing the problems... So what big deal?
