The Traditional Place: The Cremation Ground
The traditional place is any kind of intensive situation where we can't wriggle out of strong feelings, strong responses. And symbolically and actually literally the traditional place is the cremation ground. Buddhist practitioners for, since the time of the Buddha I think have been meditating in cemeteries as a way to have a concrete and direct experience with death. So it's a positive thing because done in the right way, done with enough positivity and self-assurance, looking concretely at our own fate gives us an accurate picture of our own situation.
