The Context of Jesus' Resurrection
Gospel accounts don't have the language of a vision or dream. They're described as just ordinary meetings. And most of the appearances appear happen in broad daylight. It's not something like at night, oh, they were tired and so they were imagining things. The disciples associated Jesus' resurrection with his status as the Messiah. This is not what first century Christians typically believed or expected.
