In the 1970s or so, a strange trend began in the United States. Some subsets of Americans started working more than ever. And specifically, college educated elites who could ostensibly afford to not work as much. There are actually diminishing returns to the additional dollars that we make. We might be better off trading some of that additional money for more free time.
