The Keynesian Consensus in the 1970s
From the end of World War II until the 1970s, there was significant state intervention in the economy. Even right-wing Republican presidents like Richard Nixon referred to themselves as Keynesians. That bipartisan Keynesian consensus died out and you had the emergence of neoliberalism. This is the new phase of ruling class ideology that we've really globally.
