The Importance of Humor in Comedy
The inside joke thing is always dangerous because it solidifies an otherness for those who aren't on the inside that they are not part of this or that group. So there's a sort of like I guess and as we're talking about this there's like the good use of humor has as you've already said the kind of an affability it encourages friendships, it ought to have a sort of gentlemanly quality to it if that makes sense. And I think that also leads to a consideration of kind of like crass humor or that sort of thing.
