Most creatives are kind of like, I want anyone who can pay me. That's probably the stage that most people are in. The One Page Marketing Plan is a very good book and it really helps you narrow down your focus on exactly who you want as clients. It talks about three things: personal fulfillment, value to the market and profits. And if you add them all up, whatever is the highest total way is probably the roots you go down because that's where you have the most chance to actually turn your creative endeavor into a career.
