Many of the people in the search for activity express concern that they don't follow up with how well people have done. It's not so important for the ceo to be liked, but it is important that the c b o be regarded as a legitimate holder of the job. But again, performance in the sense of making good decisions or improving the performance of the firm really is a very secondary matter.
