i think the eastern christian tradition is about something much more than what we usually think of as intellectual activity. The orthodox notion thatur mind is in your heart, right? Literally. We've created this notion of a kind of etilated reason which somehow can take the rational individual to truth and it's a very disconnected, inhuman, weird way of thinking about things. And it's not s, as rowan also says, not the way, actually, most of us experience human life at all.
