Is There a Drama in Contemporary Art at MoMA?
MoMA's job is to be far more leading edge and engaged in the contemporary art world than ours is. We think of ourselves, and this isn't at all in a pedantic way, but as a, we're the canon. So there's no question that living artists like Jasper Johns or David Hockney belong in the Met,. And there are other living artists where it's not clear yet whether or not- Time will tell.
