Jacob De Grom's Breakeven Point

Jacob de Grom would still be a good pitcher in theory. How much worse could he be as a pitcher And still be more valuable than he currently is? If that led to him going deeper into games or just being available for more starts I don't know exactly what the break even is and maybe he just has this mentality Maybe it's not as easy to take a little off as it seems like it should be.
