The DoJ Special Counsel's Approach to the January 6th Indictment

This is now the third time Donald Trump has been indicted, but it feels different to me. It goes right really to the heart of our democracy. When I worked at the New Jersey Attorney General's office, I learned that a particular local had gotten into the habit of serially overcharging cases. He'd automatically start by charging every killing as a first degree murder and then he'd hope for either a compromised jury verdict or a plea deal. This folks is not what prosecutors should be about.
