The Story of a Young Scot

Emil was born in Jersey but moved to Scotland at the age of five. He worked as a clerk for Dixon's and Company in Edinburgh until 1846 when he decided to return home. Emil enjoyed his job and social life in Scotland but after a relationship with a young woman from 5 failed he began yearning for home. In 1851 tragedy struck once more and Emil's younger sister Zephyrine died. Suddenly Emil found himself in a shocking position with no money no job and no way to get himself home to Jersey. Luckily his hard work had paid off when Dixon and Company agreed to keep him on a decision that would at least allow Emil to avoid destitution and eventual homelessness.
