Is Drill Like Practice?
The word 'drill' is used lazily to describe a whole range of practice activities. In my view it should be confined to a particular type of practice activity and then we need better descriptions of the other activity forms. So just try to encourage people to think about practice activities rather than a drill because straight away there's an image in your mind of what that is or isn't. And like I say, John Woodin drills for him with three on twos, two on twons, two on ones. But that's quite, again that's kind of an American type of language isn't it from that type?"
