Power to the People by Alfred Nobell
In your book, power to the people, you go through the history of new technologies as they emerged. There's a link between the invention of dynamite and later the nobel peace prize. Alfred nobell was trying to develop something that would improve upon the disadvantages of gunpowder. Through his hard work in their backyard shed, nabell figured out a way to put nitroglycerine into a stabilizing medium. That's where we get the iconic image of dynamite - tubes with a little fuse at the ends.
