Nica is the term resentiment in french, but the meaning is the same as the term resentment in english. It's produced by this lingering need to inflict harm so that one can experience power. When people are stopped from pursuing power, when they don't possess the power to overcome the obstacles face, they become resentful. This reversal of the evaluating glance, this essential orientation to the outside instead of back unto itself, is a feature of resentimen. The beginning of the slave's revolt in morality occurs when resentiment, it turns creative and gives birth to values. In order to come about, morality first has to have an opposing external world.
