Is snoke came out of nowhere? It went with plagus. Plagus taught palpatine and is referenced in the prequels. So he's a character that already exists in lore, and would make complete and utter sense to be the final villain. And then, even if we keep the fact that cilo cuts them in half, he could, because he can keep himself from dying, come back and be palpitine. Then they'd be trying to kill the gy whose unkillable.
