I'm always incredibly irritated by the whole in judo at least this drills that are basically it's called ochikomi. Ochikomi is basically you do the motion without actually doing the throw so you stop right before the throw and I know a coach in kl right there are lots of similarities between the way that both of you approach pedagogy development. It's really hard to sort of do transfer of skill from training to career situations but I've been thinking about this ever since he told me about this approach.
