Intuitive Eating Is Not About Diet Culture's Rules

There is nothing inherently wrong with eating when you simply want to eat, even if you don't necessarily feel hungry. There are lots of reasons to eat even in the absence of obvious hunger. Just having thoughts of food or feeling like eating actually is a sign of hunger. For people who have a peaceful relationship with food that is unmarked by ongoing deprivation, it can be helpful to try eating sooner than otherwise would.
