The overarching trend of the 20th century has been centralization of power. And the 21st century is all about accelerating that, it seems. The average American pays 17% on their credit card; New York Fed member banks are essentially paying zero to 1%. All you need is time. Let's have free competition with these starting positions. Exactly. It was true. They've been saying for years, we can't do it. Suddenly they all coordinated globally and took this very specific, very rare policy. How can that be a mistake or a coincidence?
