Annie Potts is Professor of Critical Animal Studies and Co-Director of the New Zealand Centre for Human Animal Studies at the University of Canterbury. Her latest research has been published in a book called Feminist Animal Studies. It examines how female animal bodies have been used in sometimes painful experiments in pharmacological research aimed at finding drugs for women that will be as profitable as Viagra was marketed to men. Annie is joined by her colleague who was a critical and public sociologist whose research informed by critical intersectional feminism focuses on mechanisms of power and marginalisation expressed through human relationships with other species.
