Are Robots Coming for Your Jobs?
The automation discourse is the idea that robots are coming for your jobs, and therefore we need something like a universal basic income. On one side of the spectrum, you have people like Elon Musk and the kind of crew of Turtleneck Silicon Valley people talking about how we're going to take care of all the people who are losing jobs as a result. Andrew Yang ran for president last year on an anti-automation platform; he garnered a small but significant portion of the vote. He took some of these ideas into the mainstream.
