How Much Time Do You Give to Research?
If an artist gets, if he gets picked for the job, there's this what we call a launch. The production side of the art director and the directors will launch the vista of artists. They will pitch whatever has been done before. Once we do research, you have to understand not just, it's not always about the pretty drawing. It's beyond that. That probably is only 10% of what they need in the film. Everything has to be established in Charlotte. You have to research on how can you show a kitchen of a mom who just lost her kid. Show that in the environment. Sometimes it doesn't really work and mechanics may not work, but it looks functional
