The Fed's Argument for a 2% Inflation Rate
The Fed cannot possibly say three. It's not the 2% official number that they have. That was set many moons ago in a different kind of an economy. What they can do and what they've already some sense committed to is say it's a 2% average right over the cycle. Before the pandemic, we were below to right. We were struggling to get a 2% inflation rate.
