The Tyranny of Merit
Last year, the moral philosopher michael sandell brought out a book called the tyranny of merit. And in a sense, pointing some part of the finger towards this idea of elite research institutions and that idea of merit being the root out. It's a topic thathas been weighing on my mind because it asks us questions about whether we are playing a part in perpetuating something that is damaging to broader society. So i would hope that out of the pandemic, some of the collective things we've been doing together are a little bit of a corrective to that.
