The Role of Judges in Interpreting the Law

Dworkin's argument is that the judges are in fact using these legal principles that are sort of well established. So it illustrates, you know, what's going on here with interpreting the law. Right. A legislature can pass a incoherent batch of laws and will, depending on who has the majority on that day. And so that's the whole point of judges is to work out those inconsistencies.
