Mary Shelley's Life
Shelley's own life is not such a cautionary tale as that might suggest. She was afflicted with sadness, sometimes of her own doing, but mostly not. Mostly she was a victim of society and those around her at least a little. And much more, a victim of the medicine known at the time - particularly childbirth.
