How Does the Phone Know Where the Wi-Fi Is?

We take the location from our sound towers or the proximity to the sound towers that we're connected to. We've got GNSS available to us. We've also got this Wi-Fi database that lives on our phone so the device can quickly identify the Wi-Fi hotspot and its location. What else can we do to help sort of create a really accurate and precise position from our phones? And one that I'm particularly keen on is called visual positioning.
