The interferometer and far view is the perfect instrument to detect transmissions of magnetosphere from extra solar planets. We should be able to see that same kind of modulation for exoplanets maybe out to 20 parsecs something like that we don't know how far. This is one of the things that we will beable to see, because habitability is generally thought to be associated with having a magnetic field so you may be able to identify potentially have the world by just looking for a modulation.
