The Importance of Ethics in Research

The way the ethics happens doesn't quite match what I've put on paper. And it happens sometimes because there's a clash between my identity as a researcher and my identity as part of the community I'm researching. You might say that 100% you're going to get written consent, then you go out and you realize that the community are distrusting of you generally. But maybe they don't want to sign things, but happy to give audio consent. They didn't include an ethics application so you could go back and fill that again.
