The Dancing Plague of 1518

St. Vitus was a Sicilian saint who'd been martyred in 303 AD and was believed to curse sinners with the uncontrollable urge to dance if they angered him. Authorities loaded Frau Trophia into a wagon and sent her 30 miles away to Severn, where they hoped that at the shrine of St. Vitus she might be cured by some miracle. There's no mention in the historical records as to whetherFrau Trophia stopped dancing during the wagon ride to Severn. I'd like to think she just stood up in the wagon and kept on a groovin and the cops just hid as many potholes as they could to try to get her to stop
