The Midsummer Sun Is a Big Part of the Economy
Before the pandemic, sweden's hospitality industry was growing steadily. Every extra hour of daylight counts when you're managing a business which relies on outdoor socializing. In stockholm, where the sun does set for a few hours a day, it doesn't go below the horizon at the height of summer. The further north you get, the longer the winter. So this means that they are very, very much dependent on the summer months in Sweden.
