i don't like books where the main characters are like a hundred % totally sympathetic, hough in every respect. And i think you succeed wonderfully there with the main character, kirk. He may be very smart but intelligence is pretty cheap. It's not a very meaningful quality. There's also some ways i think he's kind of an interesting or redemptive character. I would say that a novel is like this insight into someone's life. We're so bad at this.
