What Does Epicurus Say About Pleasure?
David sedley: A central goal of his life, accoldint epicurus, is pleasure. What did he mean when he used the word pleasure? And we let you start with that. He says it's as obvious what pleasure is and what its value is as it is that snow is cold and that fire is hot. If you're not hungry or thirsty or cold, then you are in a state of static pleasure. The most pleasant state to achieve would be one of mentallessness if you could get rid of all fear of death.
