Is There an Intrusive Thought?
The most commonly understood cognitive explanation of an obsession today is that there's an intrusive thought that's considered normal. Intrusion is first a metaphor, right? It's a metaphor for a thought that somehow came to be and I didn't like it. But ICBT says, oh, it's not an intrusive in the sense that like it bombarded into your consciousness. You were keeping an eye out for something in this ballpark because of your vulnerable self-fein. These aren't some random thoughts. These are actually quite obsessional,. And so it's again, this might be something that people have to chew on for a little bit and wrap their heads around.
