The Hero's Journey

Beethoven had a bit of an obsession with the key of C minor. And overwhelmingly in his C minor works, they modulate to C major. So this idea of the heroic journey, which a lot of people see as central to Beethoven's central period, you can see that epitomized in C minor struggle, struggle, struggle and triumphant C major.
