Sean Carroll's Mindscape: Science, Society, Philosophy, Culture, Arts, and Ideas

CHAPTER

Is There a Signal That Could Account for This?

When i studied psychology, i learned of a phenomenon whereby rats were taught new tasks that took a certain amount of time to learn. And as time went on, rats in other parts of the world learned these new tasks at a statistically significant faster rate. I know physics would say there's no signal that could account for this, and i've never found a good answer. Do you have any wisdom on ah, yess?
